OCA Learn - marking off of lessons/projects as completed

Hi _ I am looking forward to try and ascertain what some of the future tasks are so that I can fit them in around holidays etc. It seems to 'tick' and mark off a section as completed just because I have opened it and read it even though I havent completed the section. Is there anyway we have control of this?
